China is currently the country with the largest number of skyscrapers in the world, as of 2023 China has more than 3,000 buildings higher than 150 meters (492 feet), over 100 of them are supertalls, which are skyscrapers higher than 300 meters, 11 of these supertalls even surpass 450 meters.
This page lists top 10 tallest buildings in Mainland China, buildings in Hong Kong and other regions of Greater China are excluded.
The list doesn't include buildings that are still under construction. Broadcasting towers are listed for reference, each follows a "~" sign instead of a number as they are not habitable.

Shanghai Tower was built in the early 2015, since then it has been holding the crown of China's tallest building for more than 3 years.

Ping An Finance Center was initially designed to be 660 meters tall with the intention to make it the tallest skyscraper in the nation, there was a 60-meter spire at top in the original design, but in the later the spire was removed from the design when the tower was under construction and had been built to a height close to 600 meters, due to the concern on the security of a nearby airline.
Starting from February 2018, people can access to an observation deck on the 116th floor of the tower.

Tianjin Goldin Finance 117 is not just a simple box structure, the building actually tapers slightly as it rises, and topped with a diamond-shape structure, which features an observation deck. The construction on the building has not completed but suspended, however the diamond structure on the top has been built and the tower had fully topped out.
Although it ranks 3rd on this page, Goldin Finance 117 has highest roof among all the skyscrapers on this page, its roof is the highest point of the building, while the tallest two buildings in this list all have decorative hollow structures on the top.

Canton Tower is the tallest structure in city of Guangzhou, it's also the tallest broadcasting tower in China and second tallest broadcasting tower in the world, only after Tokyo Skytree in Tokyo. The roof height of the tower is 454 meters.
The tower was 610 meters tall upon its completion, the security concerns of an airline above the tower resulted in a height reduction on its spire, it is said the reduction work cost millions of dollars.
Canton Tower has a series of observation decks on its highest floor and above roof, including an outdoor platform at 488 meters high, which was once the highest observatory in the world.
4. Chow Tai Fook Finance Center
Height: 530 meters City: Guangzhou
Chow Tai Fook Finance Center or CTF Finance Center, is the tallest building and second tallest structure in Guangzhou, the tower was proposed as East Tower along with the West Tower(Guangzhou IFC Tower) by the city's urban planning department. In the later Chow Tai Fook Group obtained the rights to develop the East Tower, and began to develop the tower via its subsidiary New World Development in 2009. The tower was initially planned to be have the same appearance as the West Tower, Chow Tai Fook dislikes the idea and asked the planning department for redesign and was permitted, after that the design from American architectural firm KPF was chosen by Chow Tai Fook for East Tower. Now the tower is owned by Chow Tai Fook Group and serves as its headquarters.
The tower doesn't have observation deck, but has restaurants and bars on its uppermost floors.
5. Chow Tai Fook Binhai Center
Height: 530 meters City: Tianjin
This is the second tallest building in Tianjin, it is the second skyscraper named after and developed by Chow Tai Fook Group. The building is built in Binhai District, which is planned to become a business center like Pudong in Shanghai.

7. Shanghai World Financial Center

Shanghai World Financial Center is the second tallest building in Shanghai and was once the world's tallest building measured by roof height from 2008 to 2009. The building is one of the most distinctive buildings in Shanghai as the large aperture on the top makes the building appears like a bottle opener. The sky bridge above the large aperture contains an observation deck, which was highest in the world upon its opening in 2008.
As of 2023, Shanghai World Financial Center is still the tallest flat-roof building in the world, as Goldin Finance 117 is not completed yet.
8. Wuhan Greenland Center
Height: 476 meters City: Wuhan
Wuhan Greenland Center is a supertall skyscraper in Wuhan, the tower is designed by Adrian Smith, who designed the renowned Burj Khalifa, the tower is also based on a Y shape footprint like Burj Khalifa.
It was originally planned to rise to 636m to become the tallest building in China, but the height was eventually scaled down to 476m due to the security concerns of a nearby flight path.

Oriental Pearl Tower is a broadcasting & observation tower in Shanghai, it's one of the landmark buildings of Shanghai, and before the completion of SWFC in 2008, it had been the tallest structure in China. The observation decks are set inside the spheres of the tower, offering aerial views of the river and buildings on the sides of it, Oriental Pearl Tower is one of the most popular points of interest in Shanghai.
9. Changsha International Financial Square Tower T1
Height: 452 meters City: Changsha
Changsha IFS Tower T1 is the main tower of the Changsha IFS complex, which is composed of two supertalls and situated in the city center of Changsha, one of the largest cities in Central China.
The complex is developed by the Hong Kong based group Wharf Holdings, the Tower T1 is the tallest building developed by the group, Wharf Holdings also developed Suzhou IFS, another supertall skyscraper in China, it's slightly shorter than this one.
10. Zifeng Tower
Height: 450 meters City: Nanjing
Zifeng Tower is the tallest building in Nanjing, one of the former capital cities of China, the building is also designed by Adrian Smith, the building's spire is kind of similar to Burj Khalifa's.
A considerable proportion of the building's height is contributed by its spire, its highest accessible floor is at only 381 meters.
