Tallest Skyscrapers in Mumbai

Mumbai is one of the world's largest global metropolises and still keeps growing. The construction of skyscrapers is a new phenomenon in Mumbai, all the skyscrapers surpassing 200m are built after 2010, but the amount grows very fast, after a few years of development the city has already have one of tallest skyline in the world, with 20 buildings surpassing 200 meters, the amount will be increased to more than one hundred since about as many as 150 buildings above 200m are under construction or proposed, the amount is so huge that will make skyline of Mumbai the highest in the world if all of them built.

With the rapid growth of Mumbai, there came up with many new proposals for supertall skyscrapers that over 300 meters in the city. In terms of the amount of supertalls Mumbai ranks 4th in the world, only after Dubai, Shenzhen, New York City, the city has a total of more than 40 supertalls that are under construction or proposed, this page will list 17 of them that have actual progress. As of 2017 there still has no one truly completed, but some has topped out, some are under construction. Most of these supertall skyscrapers in Mumbai are located in Worli, a district north of central business district, though none of current completed skyscrapers is located there.

The tallest building ever proposed in Mumbai is India Tower, a megatall skyscraper that stands at 720 meters, it had entered into construction phase, but got cancelled in 2011 due to the Financial Crisis, though it didn't come true, we can see there's no restrictions on the heights of the buildings in the city while some cities like Shenzhen and New York City are facing the problem of flight paths, so sooner or later there will be a megatall or even hypertall skyscraper built in Mumbai.

Unlike those cities having only a few skyscrapers, there are plenty of buildings over 200 meters in Mumbai. For introducing the tallest buildings in Mumbai, let's first focus on the skyscrapers that taller than 300 meters.
